Autumn in Tasmania
The Fagus is Turning
Better know as Fagus, the Deciduous beech or its botanical name of Nothofagus gunnii, is Australia's only cold climate winter-deciduous tree and is found nowhere else in the world except Tasmania. During Autumn the changing colour makes for a magnificent display.
This photo was taken on a misty day in late April 2019 while walking the Tarn Shelf Circuits in the Mount Field National Park. One of the great walks that Tasmania offers locals and tourists alike and where you can see nature at its best.
